Essex Ink

Not a sleeve but little, black ink dipped antennae tips. At last, I've captured my first Essex skipper of 2018. Ollie and I have been hunting for one for ages. The black-tipped antennae are definitive and I was thrilled when I spotted this skipper with them on our Essex property. My image is for old family friend Stephen and his late mother Zahra who spotted Essex skippers in the grounds of the rectory in my home village. She initially was not believed by the entomological establishment. I've added an ovipositing small skipper to extras.
