Japanese Beetle....
....on flowering milkweed.
Another gorgeous day in a relatively long string of them, so out hunting for something small when I spotted the JB. They have such pretty, iridescent colors--a pity that in North America they're pests that feast on some 200 different varieties of plants. (Apparently, in Japan, they have natural predators that take care of them, so are not nearly as destructive there--so says Wiki).
Tom is finally feeling a bit better, but has lost 8 lbs. in the past two weeks--his appetite left when the cold bug took over. He had to have lab work drawn yesterday so I'd called the office when it opened to see if the PA would check him over. They said to come up after the labs were drawn, & they took him in quickly. All looking okay, so I think he's on the upswing from the cold & hopefully his appetite will improve too.
Big thanks to Nickimags888 for hosting TinyTuesday. :))
