Glorious!

Well my plants sure are loving this heatwave - my Gloriosa lily has never flowered so beautifully! Apparently they come from India and South Africa and is also called the Flame or Fire Lily so no wonder it's enjoying the heat! I love the way it opens and the petals peel up and change colour. I meanwhile am not so hot about it! I didn't get to the allotment till the evening but once there I finished digging over the bed - now that did make me very happy! I also picked some spinach, Swiss chard, Curly and Russian kale and added them to my sweet potato and lentil curry for supper! For pudding swirled my Gooseberry compote into some whipped double cream - so went to bed both full and happy! 
Oh and forgot to add the link to that fiendish dock I dug out! So here it is! The photo after it is the hole I dug with poor Betsy next to it - you may not want to look at that :-(
