Peel Park

Some claim Peel Park in Salford as the world’s first public park, although that might be disputed. LS Lowry trained as an artist near this spot, and painted this view.

It has been hugely improved this year with the assistance of Heritage Lottery funding. Like everywhere else the lack of any rain for 25 days, combined with a lot of warmth, is taking it’s toll.
