York.
We were blessed with a blue skied sunny cold morning as we drove from Rishton, along the A59 to York.
We travelled through some very picturesque Lancashire countryside, past sheep farms and the Autumnal amber leaved beech trees were at their best in the bright sunshine.
It was a steady journey and took two hours.
We found a parking space in Micklegate, beside a row of chained bikes and walked towards the city centre and then the Minster.
In this blip I have tried to give a genral impression of York centre.
The shops are a fantastic mix of specialist privately owned shops, for example, first edition books, glassware, sweet shops, boutiques and chocolate shops.
Then there are the well known department stores, M&S, BHS, H&M, Debenhams, Samuels.
Added to this we found a great Cath Kidston shop, Lakeland, Accessorise and many more gorgeous shops to rejoice in.
We did not go into the Minster this time but I have visited it in the past.
Quite a lot of work is being done and there is scaffolding in place.
I took a few photos of the external architecture and I felt the immensity of the
powerful dimensions.
We all enjoyed our time in york and hope to return next year.
