Rishton Remembers.
It is sunny and cold with showers of light rain today.
I went to Christian Fellowship and we shared the two minutes silence in honour of those who lost their lives in the wars so we can live in freedom.
Philip gave us a powerful Word encouraging us to live in the peace of Christ, and to use our various talents to bring honour to God.We are all part of a Divine jigsaw puzzle and each piece helps to make the bigger picture.
Afterwards I walked to the war memorial and photographed the wreaths placed by the British Legion and local community groups.
I wore a red poppy and a white poppy which comes from PPU, the Peace Pledge Union.
Sustaining peace through non violent resolution of conflict is at the heart of their thinking and I find this compatible to Christ's message about loving God and loving your neighbour as you love yourself.
Have a wonderful day.
