Waistcoat Wednesday

Well, the biggest thing about today was, of course, England's semifinal match against Croatia. We got to our usual venue at 8:45 for a 10pm kick-off, and just as well as the best seats were already taken and the place filled up shortly after.

Having read a few articles in the morning about M&S running out of waistcoats, and people being encouraged to wear them today, we decided to comply. We used Whatsapp to keep in touch with SweetArt who took the trouble to stay up and watch the match live.

It was great to see England take the lead, but Croatia scoring in the second half and the match going into extra time had us heading home at the end of 90 minutes. Just as well seeing what the end result was. I was amazed at how many people on the QE2 were supporting the opposition. I am gutted and annoyed with the result. G is much more philosophical (as always).

Earlier, we went to Mercato to kill some time (read stay out of the cleaner's way) and watched the movie Oceans 8. That was fun! Clever ladies.
