Friendly shark!

It took a while to pluck up the motivation to do anything today! :(

I had to do some research on travel insurance yesterday and can't believe how much more it costs now I'm over 50. Today's research was on water carbonators aka make your own sparkling water rather than buying single-use plastic bottles. Interesting stuff.

G & I were invited to a "presentation" in the evening, at an office on Bank Street. We took the bold decision to drive there rather than use public transport and parked the car in a nearby Mall. The presentation was on Lavylites (yes - they've made it to Dubai!) Incredible products that can really help change people's lives for good but their MLM scheme is not ideal.

The meeting went on longer than expected, so we left after around three hours. Having parked in a Mall, we had to be out within four hours. In order to get free parking, we had to spend 100 dirhams in any of the outlets. We chose the supermarket. Carrefour on a Thursday night in a very busy downtown mall... let's just say it was heaving and had long queues at the tills.

G left and waited outside having already helped to fill the trolley with things we can use in the future. I whizzed around getting things that I suddenly remembered we needed. And then we got home just in time to watch live coverage of the Trumps arriving at Blenheim Palace. So my blip today is really a bit symbolic! It also happened to be opposite the Information Desk where we got the parking ticket validated before exiting the Mall.
