Not so much ...........

Assistance needed please to identify these ....... they start with loads and loads of leaves, bare stems grow from them, the leaves wither and die and berries form on the stems, starting green and turning orangey-red.  
No flowers whatsoever!
When all the berries are gone the stems go soft and mushy, die back and disappear.  
The following year they repeat with an increase in numbers.

I didn't plant them - they just "arrived" from somewhere.

I'm torn between pulling them all up and keeping them because they are bright and cheerful.
