Ella and Nathaniel ask a lot about their Auntie Victoria who died before they were born, today she would have been 47 and Ella thought we should have a cake and that’s the 4 children should blow out the candles. So that’s what we did. I like that they think about her even though they in their innocence ask hard questions. Ella wondered tonight why young people got cancer and what cancer was and if it could ever be fixed.

We took their mums out for Thai food after.

(We’d hoped to join the anti-Trump rally at the Durham Miners Gala but timings didn’t work out. #1 daughter certainly would have approved of that and would have been there if she could.)
