Silver-eye Baby

A cold dreary day today and later the rain arrived. I was fortunate to get my blip before it set in.

Whatever is this baby silver-eye doing  being here at this time of year - it is mid winter. I spotted it on the deck rail with some sleeker and bigger adults, unsuccessfully begging them for food. I went out to inspect it and the other birds took off but the wee one didnt  even know enough to be frightened of me. I could have reached out and touched it but went inside for the camera instead. I was able to get really close  again but the click of the shutter was more frightening than me and it flew off.
I hope it survives the winter.

I am just back home from the movie Edie -  very enjoyable.
