Then and now

A newly discovered picture thanks to a reconnection with a cousin via Facebook. The picture taken over 60 years ago of 5 of 6 siblings that grew up in and remained close despite a less than perfect childhood. They are my uncles, my aunt and my mom. On this particular day the celebration was a delayed 'Oktoberfest'. Although in this family, any excuse to have a party or get together will do. The delay was due to hurricane Sandy but a hurricane is nothing compared to the obstacles these siblings overcame to get to where they are today.
Discovering this old photo (among others) was a gift of such heartfelt gratitude because it was a gift of memories forever captured. I thought it was an appropriate Blip today because this is one of the very reason we Blip! A moment in time forever captured and preserved.
