After the storm

Today's drive was a little short of 500 miles but I took it steadily taking a couple of naps en route.  The rain was torrential in the Auvergne mountains and at times I had to slow to 30 mph on the motorway. Fortunately, the worst has passed when we arrived at our house.  I shall watch some French television tonight to get my ear adjusted as I have a couple of meetings coming up on Thursday.  At the moment the whole of the news is given over to the French victory in the World Cup.
