Umbrellas
After a week of not very lovely weather, our last day was glorious so I went out early for my last run. We then had to finish packing up and get out of our accommodation. We had a wander around in the sunshine, before heading off. Our destination was Newcastle, but we stopped off for a wander and lunch in Morpeth before getting back on the road. We had planned to meet up with BB’s football team, as he had a weekend in Newcastle with them – training with, and playing with, local teams and going to see Newcastle v Arsenal. We could not find our destination, but must have circled around it a few times before we eventually found it. We even asked a few people and they didn’t seem to know where it was. Anyway we made it, only to find the pitches were waterlogged and the coaches were trying to make alternative arrangements. We left BB with them and headed off to visit our friends A and M.
We then had a lovely child free afternoon and evening out in the Toon - a few drinks and a lovely meal before we headed back for lots more chat over a couple more drinks. A really lovely end to our holiday. Meanwhile BB was dining out and going bowling with the team, and spending the night in a Premier Inn – which he was really looking forward too, especially the prospect of a big breakfast!
I spotted these colourful umbrellas in Morpeth.
