All smiles

On the next exciting stage of our adventure We flew from Honolulu to Maui this morning, 30 minutes in the air and they still offered us coffee or juice. Very impressed with Hawaiian Air.
After a nailbiting high, winding, beautiful drive (as the passenger closest to the cliff edge - eek!) we arrived at Kaanapali on the west coast of Maui. Quick change and we were at the beach, a whole 2 minutes away. The water was slightly cooler than expected, but really nothing like Porty at all and once in, was lovely, and we must have spent more than 2 hours in it, floating, swimming and body surfing (only after did we see that the were boogie boards and big rubber ring things that we could borrow- maybe an early swim tomorrow before we move on?).

By the time we got out, used the beach shower, had a quick dip in the pool just outside our room, got all the sand removed -that body surfing is a sandy business - all the local restaurants had shut (they must get up early, last orders at 8.30pm,). So we had a supermarket sweep and came back to our apartment (with kitchen and dishwasher). Purely to help the local economy we got some local beer, corn cobs and salsa to go with the blue corn chips and pizza. Hmmm I might need a boogie board to keep me afloat tomorrow!
