Brough Castle

After Clickychick's dental check up we headed for Kirkby Stephen, where one of our suppliers for the Lodge trades.  First stop was the Mulberry Bush for lunch.

This was followed by a quick wander round the town before heading to complete the reason for the visit.  As we were making our way home I remarked that sometime we should visit the castle.  There being no time better than the present we turned off to visit.  A fascinating place built on a Roman fort and with lots of photographic opportunities.

We made it a short visit, leaving some exploring for another visit.  However we did take enough time to relieve the heat with ice cream from the "Ice Cream parlour and Cafe".  Very tasty and much needed.

Time constraints and a technical difficulty has given me quite a backlog of blips.  I will as usual try to post one morning and one evening until I catch up.
