Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2018 Wednesday — Cayucos Creek

Cayucos Creek runs along the north side of Hardy Park. If you look carefully you can see the Hwy.#1 bridge going over the creek and our white Honda CR-V in the parking lot. Hardy Park is catty-corner from the library. The library was our focus; the park is where the three pups wanted to be. We all got our way.

Slightly after 5:00 pm we were hurrying to get to our lovely little Cayucos Public Library. Mr. Fun had checked-out a “hot spot” device to keep from using the “hot spots” on our iPhones when we want to get our laptops on the Internet. The library closes at 6:00, and the “hot spot” device was due today. Last Friday I put in a request for a “hot spot” device so it should just be another couple days till we have another one.

When we sold our big SoCal house and moved-out a month ago, we discontinued our landline phone, our AT&T U-Verse, and our Internet service. When we get back at the end of summer, I don’t think we’ll re-connect any of that. The monthly chunk of change that AT&T was getting for all of that was just too much.

Then the monthly cost of two cellphones seems more necessary because they are our connection to the Internet; we have “unlimited” data because we started with AT&T cellphones so long ago, but if we use over a certain limit of data, then AT&T slows down the data. So, yes, it’s unlimited, but the speed is controllable. This irritates Mr. Fun and I am just delighted to have it! So using the library “hot spot” device saves on our data use.

Today has felt like winter in Cayucos. This community is fogged-in. It was chilly cold at the park as we walked the pups. We often tell friends in SoCal that we have our best summers in January.

From California’s Central Coast,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
