Push Coconut, Shake The Tree

I left getting a fresh coconut a bit late, but finally... First I drank the juice then "the man" chopped it up for me to eat the flesh which was quite different to back home, it was very juicy.

Today was a catch up day, our last full day on Maui and in fact Hawaii. We again woke up at 5.45am to check the sunset and were in luck, the sky was clear enough, we walked down to the shore to watch it (Ms H was happy to sleep). It was much less orange to back home... I wonder if it was the lack of pollution over the Pacific? Extra #1 photo 1.

Then back-tracked down The Road To Hana to visit what we didn't when coming here. First goal was The Garden of Eden which was used in Jurassic Park - in photo 2, we think it was the point island poking up in the centre of it used at the start of the film. We enjoyed this park and there are 2 further photos... one with baby peacock chicks (never seen them before) and the other with eucalyptus trees.

The last 2 photos are in Waianapanapa State Park with a black sandy beach and lava rocks everywhere, including an arch, a cave and a blow hole.

We continued around the island leaving Hana, which is not the usual route and we found out why. The road turned to several variations of destroyed while winding it's way around the cliffs over the sea, it was quite spectacular! We eventually arrived at our hotel in Kihei about 9.30 and took a quick dip in the pool.

We cross the dateline tomorrow again, so losing a day, I haven't worked out when I will blip yet so it might appear I miss a day, though won't. See you the other side!
