A Bigger Job

Scenario: If a friend arrived at my house with a six year-old in tow and the child wanted to use my lavatory I would allow that. If that same child wanted to try to make something using the very expensive building materials outside my house I would forbid that. (This image is not my house).

If the builder I had contracted (to build me something wonderful from the expensive building materials outside my house) wanted to use my lavatory, I would allow that. If I needed to go out while the builder was there I would leave the house unlocked and allow him to use my kitchen to make tea and also to use my bathroom.

If I couldn't trust the builder with the keys to the house or correct use of the toilet then I definitely couldn't trust him to build the wonderful thing in my absence. I would be at home and the workforce would be free to use my lavatory.
