Another Fab Saturday Night!

Staying in is definitely the new going out! :-))

For once we were organised for friends coming for dinner and staying over. Normally we're running around like blue arsed flies when our guests are about to arrive but we were very composed and ready and just as well, as they arrived on the dot of 7!

I spent late morning and early afternoon preparing the rest of the food....homemade smoked mackerel pate (new recipe I tried....it is fab!) strawberry and almond crumble THIS is the sugar and almond coated strawberries just before the buttery crumble topping was scattered over. I even made some caramel shortcake. Was glad I had made the Hungarian Goulash yesterday though as it was the most time consuming part.

Dinner was a great success and the new dining room table has been well christened......David spilled candle wax on it, Lillemor spilled red wine and I spilled a large spoonful of crumble! Only Derek managed to behave himself at the table!

A lovely evening catching up with friends who we don't see that often so it's always extra special when we do get together.
