Summer Days in the Fens - Day 4!

Konik Ponies, Wicken Fen

To Wicken Fen this afternoon to follow the three mile Summer Nature Trail, along the boardwalk and through the reeds and rushes. We were hoping to see the myriad of butterflies that we saw two years ago, but only spotted a handful. Instead we got to see the reserve’s herd of wild Konik Ponies, and were surrounded by dragonflies galore, though they all managed to escape my camera!

In extras a handsome Konik stallion with an unfortunately placed bit of grass, a classic Wicken Fen scene and a postcard showing some of Wicken Fen’s flora and fauna.
