Baking and Bathing

Feeling hot again today, around 28 degrees. I managed a few quick jobs at my allotment and we walked the dog first thing. As usual Merlin thoroughly enjoyed his dip in the cold water of the village stream at the end of the walk. In the afternoon I baked some cakes - a wholemeal apricot and yoghurt cake and, for Andy and Alexander, a Victoria sponge cake with blackcurrant jam. Later I sat and read. I've always enjoyed peaceful woodland walks so it is interesting to read more of the origin, art and science of the Japanese practice of 'forest bathing'. I am learning more than I expected!
