Up on the roof
While the family explored the Wetland Centre at St Ouens I visited the nearby garden of Judith Queree. Although it's apparently been mentioned in magazines at home and abroad and on TV I had never heard of it, but found it quite easily down the end of a narrow lane in a quiet valley.
Mostly specialising in perennials it's a lovely garden though a mere 0.25 of an acre. The five of us present had a two hour quided tour and saw loads of interesting plants. I particularly enjoyed this Campsis radicans 'Flava' growing around the chimney!
After lunch we went into St Helier and enjoyed ourselves wandering about the harbour area - the people in my extra are playing petanque, a types of boules played with hollow steel balls.
