Great Crested Grebe

Went to Yarrow Park today to meet up with a friend and ex-colleague. I hadn't seen her in a while, so there was a lot to catch up on and photography took a back seat. 

I did, however,  spend a few minutes trying to get a shot of a grebe throwing itself into an upturned dive. Not easy as it's all over so quickly,  and the birds don't seem to give much warning!

 It's a shame that the background is distracting. :-( 

The extra is of a tiny holly blue butterfly,  but as it was very close to the edge of the water, and amongst vegetation, I couldn't get a good angle on it.
