Half Day of Rest
Our family went out just after lunch to go and see some friends of theirs who are also from Taiwan (English mum) and who are staying about 18 miles from here. Their plan was to have an afternoon on the beach followed by an early dinner and then drive back home to here. I have resisted all temptations to call or message them to make sure they're ok. Our son is still getting used to driving again - and also driving in Devon for the first time. We, therefore have had an afternoon of relative peace and quiet and I even opened a book!!
C and our son went out at 6:45 this morning to go to help a friend sheet his new (and quite large) poly tunnel, as it was the first time he'd done it. C has had a lot of experience with that sort of thing, and it was perfect weather for it at that time of day - warm but not roasting, and no wind, so they were back home by 8:45, job done and had also been fed with bacon sandwiches and coffee.
This is a flower in one of our "wild flower" areas - sadly hardly any have flowered as it's so dry.
