As the Essex heatwave continues with blazing sun and temperatures of more than 30ºC today, it was late afternoon, after bro had called round, before I ventured out (to the retail park to buy a new dishwasher after the recent demise of the old one), and then, before walking home, decided to fortify myself with a soothing pint of Doom Bar in the Fox and Raven.
