St Margaret's Hope

Another lovely warm day, clouds passed now and again, but mostly sunny.  Some showers started this evening.

Up early and headed out after breakfast.  Travelled south from Kirkwall.  Two cruise liners in, so kept away from the mobs.  Passed the Italian chapel, and it was packed out.  Then headed over all four Churchill barriers, and to the Tomb of the Eagles.  What an amazing site, and great tour and info.  Back to Kirkwall by teatime, and been out looking for granny's old house in Orphir, but with no joy.  Quiet night in tonight.

I've never been further south than the old ship wrecks at the second barrier before, and after being at the Tomb of the Eagles, lunch was needed.  We stopped off at a pub for fish and chips, and then a walk about the village.  It reminded me of a quieter Scalloway :)  Looking over the waterfront at St Margaret's Hope, Orkney.
