Fun with flashes and flowers.

See the petals sparkle in large ("L")!

An indoor blip: I ventured out to find my blip this afternoon (my idea: backlit autumn leaves with raindrops dripping), but the rain became heavier and I didn't brave a single shot but somehow found myself enjoying a ristretto in Camden Coffee House in Balham instead... Mmmm.

But, a friend gave my mother a very cute little orchid on Saturday, so I thought I'd blip it instead; I charged my flashgun's batteries and set about experimenting with both the external flash and camera's built-in flash. The light here is a mixture of both light sources in an otherwise very dim room. I've similar shots with brighter light, but this dimmer one accentuated the sparkle on the orchid flowers' petals. The background leaves and pink flowers are tulips that were slightly past their best, so looked better as a blurred background than in focus...

A bit of a random picture, but I enjoyed the process if nothing else.
