Brum 2012

Firstly, thank you so much for all your comments on my 365 entry yesterday. Made me feel a real part of the community. I've been kinda reflective since. Funny how looking back over a year does that. It's inspired me to make sure I have lots of positive things to report at the end of this next year.

Today was mega special. I'd been waiting for this since pretty much last year actually. I have a fab bunch of girlies from all over the uk (and now the world) who got to know each other in Oct 2009 when we were all expecting babies. Over that time we've grown really close and chat most days, sharing lots of things I could never tell anyone else. Being situated so far and wide and with our own families, its almost impossible to get us all together. This year we managed to get 8 of us in one place which is good going considering that involved journeys from Wales, Scotland, Yorkshire, Swindon, London & bucks. 8 of the most amazing, supportive & funny ladies I've ever met. Such a mixed bunch each contributing something to the group that is uniquely them.

This is us on our 5th attempt to get a group shot using the self timer and a microwave to prop up the camera. The mask is of Vicki who we missed loads. She couldn't make it as she's moved to Dubai but she was very much there in spirit.

I really enjoyed the freedom of not have any children to think about. I think I go a bit too excited to be honest. You know that annoying person who has a couple of drinks and gets really chatty (mostly about themselves!), so loud that no-one can hear the telly or get a word in edge ways? Well that was pretty much me. Oops. I dont even think i drank
THAT much. Anyway, hoping I still get an invite next year. :-S

The apartments we stayed in were a real eye opener. Why the hell would anyone go to a hotel when you could have all that space in a place like this? Laminate floors, 2 bathrooms, fridge freezer, washer dryer, dinning table. I could have stayed a week in that place where as normally climbing the wall after a night in a hotel. Lushtastic!
