English Borders
A slight change of scene today. We have traveled south and east to the Northumberland coast to meet up with our friends who live in the area.
We met them at Craster for coffee and then took a stroll along to Dunstanburgh Castle seen in the blip. Plenty of time for a good chat.
I felt the people added more colour and interest as the grass is very parched and brown. Also thought you might like to see the glamorous one in the middle - my sister in law - yes the one descended from sheep stealers! Always great to see them both.
When we got back from our walk we went for a very pleasant lunch before leaving to continue south to the 'Toon'.
We are spending the night in Newcastle upon Tyne. Used to come here regularly as my daughter lived here for four years but it's been a while. Probably about 7 years.
Quite a few changes on the Quayside, not surprisingly. Had a cuppa at the Baltic on our perouse around and have picked up a leaflet for a place called The Big Mussel. May be heading there for dinner.
Thanks for all your hearts and stars for Jedburgh Abbey yesterday, glad you liked it as much as I did.
