Flameworking glass.

Brian Jones makes a vessel at the National Glass Centre. Brian usually works on a bench with a torch but when pieces are bigger he uses the lathe. The extra is David making a vase using a glassblowing technique. They are very different ways of working with glass but both rely on the amazing properties of molten glass. The glass must be glowing red to be able to be worked.
