inspired by wet dashing
Steve had rigged up a tarpaulin again to protect himself and the walls from the worst of the weather. Today was the day for pebble dashing the walls. Wet dashing, he called it. Sounds a reasonable enough name to me. In Scotland, they don't dash their stones onto the walls, they just chuck them on, and so they are known as chuckies, and the resulting finish is called harling.
I stood in the dry, looking through the frosted window at his tarpaulin, cement mixer and yellow bucket, watching him 'dash' the window. I thought it made quite a good blip!
