Milkweed Pod
I haven't been to Lenape since before the Hurricane. Shingles from the roof of an abandoned building were strewn over the fields and grass as far as the eye could see so I paid my homage and picked them all up.
One large tree that had been a favorite perch for the birds had fallen; it had been cut into pieces and was laying in a heap in the parking lot.
The morning had brought a dense fog; I took pictures of the field but was caught by the simple beauty of the milkweed pod, remembering how not too long ago the milkweed was in bloom, covered with bees and butterflies.
This is my normal and I'm very glad to discover it again.
