Clinging on!

What this photo doesn’t show is how windy it was, how the trees and leaves were swaying about all over the place, and how this pair of Wood Pigeons were clinging on for dear life!

A windy day after a very windy night, and a day of sunny spells and short sharp showers that didn’t really amount to much. But it’s been so much cooler, only 19°C, a welcome break from the heat. My day has been spent researching and booking French campsites whilst watching the Tour de France.

On seeing how plump our resident Wood Pigeons were, a French visitor once said that if these pigeons were in France, they would very quickly end up on the menu. I don’t think the pigeons will be planning a trip to France any day soon!
