Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Almost ready...

Rain last night and this morning, but it stopped by the time Elizabeth came to take Archie out. They did their usual big walk, and saw the blackened bushes up Blackford Hill from the fire the other day. (Extra) I can’t stop thinking about those forest fires in Greece and those poor folk trying to escape from the inferno. Absolutely tragic.

JR went off into town and I relaxed at home. I re-oiled the kitchen benches (which took about five minutes) but that's about all I did. I can while away a day quite happily doing nothing much - watching a bit of the cycling, reading the papers, looking in the fridge.

The suitcases are out. We're almost ready to go off on a jaunt. Archie is not included in this one, but he doesn’t know it yet. He'd rather go and stay with Rufus than come with us in the car anyway.
