Slippery!
An eventuful day. But not in a good way. Again.
Anne came to take Archie out, JR went to do her executive housekeeping stint, I went to the gym. So far so good.
I came home from the gym, had a shower, stepped back in to use the squeegee thingie, and bang! I was flat on my back!! Slipped. Once I'm on my back I'm like a cast ewe - I have great difficulty in getting up. For one thing, I can't kneel yet. The knees, if I can bend them that far, are too painful to hold my weight. What to do? Should I to stay there until Anne or JR came back to rescue me? Actually, the thought of someone coming to rescue me in a state of flabby nakedness was the impetus I needed. I summoned superhuman strength and grit, slopped, flopped, slithered and crawled nearer to the bath, where I could grab hold and haul my slippery self up. This was accompanied by lots of groaning, moaning, swearing until I eventually stood up.
All good. Nothing broken. Well, nothing broken on me, but a big dent in the shower wall, where my shoulder had met with it. Fortunately, there are wee shower tiles, so none of them are actually broken. It's not a brick wall behind it (obvs), just a partition wall. But it will need fixing. Of course, the insurance only covers accidental damage to the contents not the actual property.
Just as well I didn't flop around in the bottom of the shower, waiting to be rescued - the others didn't arrive back for hours!
Anne eventually arrived with Archie about 5pm, and was persuaded to stay for a wine and nibbles. Here is the cause of her lateness - her flatmate, Clement, arrived and wanted to play with Archie. (Photo by Anne)
