Hogwart's
Ok , the castle is just plain amazing ! They really did a great job on the castle - especially Dumbledore's office. And the ride is fabulous. It's really done well as a combo 3d and animatronic ride. I do think the animatronics were better than the sim parts though - the simulations were just enough out of focus to be ( sorry Universal) not as good as the Flight of the Navi in Pandora. But the rest of the ride makes up for that! Worth it! lucked out too - only a 75 min wait because it was raining.
the second -WOW- of the park was the Hulk rollercoaster-I loved it, though my husband and daughter were dizzy for quite a while after! The rest of the rides/shows were ok to good. Hogsmead is very cute .Though there are a lot of storefronts but not many stores there are more rides than in Diagon Alley . We did get on Spiderman again ,which was fun. The water ride we got on got us absolutely soaked and in spite of the heat we didn't dry - so off to the nearest shops to find dry clothes.
The down side of the day was the sinus migraine , which has finally calmed down. I am not going to say that between the headache and the heat that I didn't get more than a little grumpy at times. So Islands of Adventure gets a better rating than Universal Studios but I don't think we'll be rushing back here any time soon. Overall my husband and I like the Disney parks better . I think the area surrounding the rides ( with the exception of Forbidden Journey at Hogwart's) are done better because they are more complete at Disney .And there are some other reasons too. Most of these areas need more actual rides, and for the daughter -well she had to skip a lot of the rides because she gets vertigo from the 3D effects.
The extra is the fabulous sunset as we were leaving- taken of the parks from the garage roof.
