On the Sofa with Chris and HeartFreek
My lovely friends Chris and Tony open up their garden every year to raise money for charity and this weekend it was for the Macmillan Horizon Cancer Centre here in Brighton, so we arranged to go along today with Tamzin and Ray. Sadly the weather was appalling - heavy rain and driving winds, but they'd borrowed a huge gazebo for in the garden and opened up their house and all the amazing cakes were set out on the dining table. Despite the weather we had a lovely couple of hours, eating cake and chatting with friends, then once the rain stopped we had a tour of the garden where Scarlett and Violet enjoyed running around as there's lots of different bits to the garden, with steps and decked areas.
They have a summer house so while we were chatting I asked Rach to take a photo of Tamzin and myself with Chris - I think she needs to get back on Blip as she's taken a pretty good photo!
We left about 2pm as Rach wanted to set off for home at about 4.30pm and needed to do her packing. I'd left the chicken roasting in the oven while we were out and had prepared the veg, so it didn't take long to finish it off. Rach then realised she'd left Scarlett's water bottle at Chris', so I phoned Tamzin to see if they were still there and luckily they were, and she very kindly said they'd drop it off on their way home - thanks Tam, you're a star!
The girls finally left just after 5pm, and Alan and I tidied up, I stripped the beds then washed and dried the bedding and remade the guest bed in readiness of our next visitors that arrive on Tuesday. I really should open up a B&B!
I now need to do some ironing if we want some clothes to wear for work tomorrow, so apologies once again for the lack of comments. Hope you've all had a great weekend!
