Sculptures in the Park
We went to a very unique spot today: the Benson Sculpture Garden in Loveland, CO, which features 158 unique sculptures from world-renowned artists as part of the town's public art policy. We saw most of them on the 3-mi walk through the garden.
The styles, topics and materials differ from one sculpture to another and each is truly unique and interesting. Pictured as my blip is our daughter, curtsying to a court jester. There is something for every taste: from contemporary to classic and from animals to people.
I'm told its the largest art collection of its type in the world and, each year, new pieces are added to the gardens, through a juried selection. The funding is partially public but 72% of it comes from donations.
If you are ever in this corner of the world (just outside Boulder, CO), this is a must see. Truly spectacular. And free! :)
