History Exposed
I'd never noticed this before in walks through the local park but the lack of rain has exposed evidence of a track extending on beyond the internal road (William Wiggin Avenue) and across the park land. One of my tasks at my old job involved inspecting old maps and I was able to find a record from the 1950's showing that indeed the avenue did continue to a grand building called The Hills (behind me as I took the photograph). I've included an extract from the map as an extra.
I know that a lot of these sorts of things have been exposed as the ground dries out and different coloration of the grass hints at the history of certain sites. I wonder if anyone else has come across something interesting like this.
