Beside Old Government House

In the grounds of Auckland University is Old Government House, once the residence of the Governor General of the Colony and now the Senior Staff common room. There are some apartments available for visiting academics.

To one side of the building is a garden, surrounded by hedges, and formally set out with a number of rose beds. This beauty was in one of them, and the evidence of early morning rain persists.
