Huge hen and other birds

I travelled over the wet and rainy Pennines today to see my best friend in Baldersdale. Her daughter, Catherine, has hatched these beautiful Braham hens, the are big with feathery feet, and are very friendly.

Chris also pointed out that I had a dead bird stuck in my car grill, see extra, don't look if you are squeamish! (I would have put it as my main blip , but was worried it might offend people).

We shared lunch with Catherine at the 'Cross Lanes' on the A66 before heading back to Caths in Mickleton for an Enlish Lakes liquorice ice cream.

Bella the springer caught a rabbit on our walk. Maisie the lab carried most of the way home, pretending she'd caught it! (see extra - but don't look at the extra if you don't like dead things).
