Actually, they've been flea-free so far this year, it's only been the last couple of days that they've started to scratch and nibble. I only treat them when it becomes necessary (rather than preventively) firstly because they both hate it so much and secondly, it's usually a two-person job. So, this is a dual purpose blip, as it's also acting as an aide memoire as to when I did the dastardly deed......hopefully  my scars should have healed before it's time to repeat the experience ;-) 

In other news ::  My smoke alarm has been throwing intermittent hissy bleepy fits this morning for no apparent reason. But enough is enough, I've just taken punitive action, forcibly removed it from the ceiling in the hall and dumped it in a bucket of water......pah, that'll teach the blighter! 
(NB a new one has been ordered, and I've just had an email to say it's arriving tomorrow ;-) )
