Needed a touch of Joy...

Today was a very challenging day at work. My boss confirmed that due to the tariffs imposed by our current president on steel, all of customers have packed their warehouses with "prebuys". Depending on how long the tariffs go on and how high, will determine how much work we will have.

Short term - extra work now. 
Long term - don't know  

The way my boss explained it to us drivers is the small mom and pop's will be ok short term. They will be able to compete with the big boys. The biggest problem will be two or three years down the road.. If the tariffs go away, the smaller stores will be stuck with higher cost appliances, while the big boys can take a short term loss and move on.. 

Looking at the bright side, the company I am with hired there 19,000th driver the other day.. Lots of opportunities in the company.. Hopefully I can stay where I am. We still have the current contract through 2020..
