Parque Central

In Saraguro.
Every town seems to have at least one carefully tended public square, with manicured gardens, a fountain (usually), seats and so on. They're well used, especially by us. We do quite a bit of sitting and watching the town go about its business. Often people come and talk to us.
The usual questions are:
Where are you from? (Australia - amazement)
How long does it take to fly here? (15 hours - more amazement)
How long have you been in Ecuador?
How long is your trip?
Where have you visited?
How long have you been in (insert name of town) and how long will you stay?
Where are you going next?
How long is your trip?
How old are you?
Are you married? (ie to each other - answer varies according to mood)
How many children do you have? (0 - biggest amazement of all)
Why not? (which might easily be interpreted as "How did you get away with that!?")
Then, if we're doing well, communication wise, we ask the last few questions in return, which is more or less the point of the exercise really.
