Beautiful blues
Today we visited the city of Ston, know for its salt works and its protective walls. We were invited to walk some distance along the walls at the end of our guided tour, but on such an extremely hot day, some of us preferred to have a cooling drink in one of the cafes, whilst the stalwarts did the walk.
The next part of the afternoon was a real treat: we were taken by boat to an oyster farm to taste fresh oysters and mussels, washed down by wine, water and a local brandy. I'm not a fan of oysters but the mussels were delicious and feature as an extra for my abstract image today. Astonishingly we ourselves were washed down briefly, when the heavens opened for twenty minutes of welcome rain.
This evening was the Captains Dinner on board our boat, rounding off a splendid day.
My main shot is of one of the uninhabited islands that we passed on the way to Ston: the many shades of blue in the sky, sea and hills never failed to amaze me and so this week my abstract had to take second place.
