The National Archives

Gone are the days when archives were hidden away in dank cellars, nowadays they're proudly displayed in this magnificent building.

The history department organised for a group of us to go to the NA together, to get our readers tickets and see around the building. Slightly terrifying, fairly intimidating, but brilliant in the end. I didn't have anything particularly to look for (not yet at least), so I looked for a few semi-random (but useful) things to get the hang of ordering documents and all that. I got a map from 1833, and the associated documents. Pretty cool! Looking forward to when I need some real old stuff.

In the evening I met up with Mez and Mark for dinner - Mez lives in London and I was staying with her, and Mark is travelling around at the moment. We had pizza, caught up, and generally had a good time with not too late a night.
