Cooling Off

We have been meaning to explore the paths on the Stansted House estate for some months. It is just up the road and we thought it would be a good place to walk Merlin. This morning, map in hand, we finally went exploring. We were not disappointed, it was beautiful- long grass rides and broadleaved woodland where we could walk in the dappled shade. Merlin enjoyed all the new smells and the bowl of water that a kind estate worker had put out for thirsty dogs. When we got back to the car he was very warm so we rested in the shade and doused him with cold water .

After lunch I spent a few hours tidying and digging at my allotment - #2. I found all sorts- an old fork, a spoon, five BBQ griddles plus an RAC membership card dating from 2003! Perhaps one day I will discover something of interest! Apparently Roman pottery has been found on the site.

This evening Andy and I had a peaceful walk by the sea at Emsworth. The sea was right in and with it being so calm there were quite a number of people out paddle boarding.

Hoping you have all had an enjoyable day.
