Killing Time
We were half way across town for a band gig in the early afternoon; by the time it was over, there wasn't time for much of anything before going to visit Becky at the agreed upon 7 pm.
Not enough time for a movie, didn't want dinner as we'd eaten a late lunch, and no sense in driving home when we'd just turn right around anyway.
So, since we were close to Reed College, we went there to rest in the shade awhile.
We didn't get to visit Becky anyway: she had spent several hours at OHSU for a transfusion and was exhausted.
It wasn't surprising, but it was still hard to hear.
I was glad to be in such a beautiful, quiet place out of the sun.
A place to ease my sorrowful mind. Becky's cancer journey continues.
