New Neighbours
I got a surprise when I opened the shutters in the bathroom this morning; a herd of sheep in the field! We have been here for 24 years and there has never been any animals kept in the there; indeed, the far end isn't secure so it wasn't suitable. However, the granddaughter of the man who rents the field from the farmer regularly walks her dog in there and we noticed a few days ago that she was setting up an electric fence around the perimeter so in some ways it wasn't a surprise. It will make a change from the very occasional fox or muntjac, and the regular rabbits.
I counted ten sheep in there this afternoon but there may be more as we can't see the whole of the field. They look to be rare breeds and there are at least two different types. Two with rather impressive horns kept head butting each other this afternoon but unfortunately, not on camera!
